RWC-winners lead Awards nominations for 2023

Five members of the Rugby World Cup-winning Springbok squad in France – Pieter-Steph du Toit, Eben Etzebeth, Siya Kolisi, Frans Malherbe and Damian Willemse – were nominated for the coveted SA Rugby Men’s Player of the Year Award for 2023, with Etzebeth up to defend the title he won last season.

RIP Hannes Strydom (1965-2023)

Mr Mark Alexander, President of the South African Rugby Union, paid tribute to former Springbok lock Hannes Strydom, a member of the Rugby World Cup-winning squad in 1995, who sadly passed away in a car accident on Sunday evening, aged 58.
