The Carling Currie Cup Wrap-Up, a weekly online show that has won no awards, is hosted by Anton Taylor and takes a quirky look at some of the more humorous and stand-out moments from the 2020/21 edition of the world’s most prestigious provincial rugby tournament.

Episode 01 – The one where Jimmy Stonehouse needs a Panado, Sbu Nkosi performs a magic trick and a tornado hits Kimberley in the middle of the match.

 

Episode 02 -  The one where the V8 that is Morne Steyn takes on the straight-six that is Frans Steyn. There’s tears of joy for the Phakisa Pumas and Tiaan Swanepoel kicks DHL WP into a last-minute misery street.

 

Episode 03 – The one where Jimmy Stonehouse delivers a rousing team talk, Sbu Nkosi takes a life and Duane Vermeulen wants to play touchies.

 

Episode 04 – The one where COVID wreaks havoc, giant moths invade Mbombela Stadium and Wandisile Simelane teaches the Cell C Sharks how to dance.

 

Episode 05 – The one where Stevie Wonder makes a TMO decision, the legend of Bongi Mbonambi is revealed and magic water helps a 13-man Toyota Cheetahs side teach the Cell C Sharks a lesson in Bloem.

 

Episode 06 - The one where Tiaan Swanepoel scores 22 points and there’s heartbreak in Bloem with a last-minute kick that gets a passionate Frans Steyn speaking Afrikaans.

 

Episode 07 - The one with the final round of league action, where there’s a heated Central Derby in Kimberley that gets referee Aimee Barrett-Theron in a tight squeeze and the Phakisa Pumas pump the Vodacom Bulls.

 

Episode 08  – The one where the Cyborg, Curwin Bosch, kicks DHL WP out of the Carling Currie Cup and a laaitie named Stravino Jacobs announces himself on the big stage.
